Delta Science Center Opens

Regional Shoreline Visitor Center

An $11 million Delta natural education and science center is now open at Big Break Regional Shoreline to tell the story of the maze of islands and waterways that provide much of California’s water and vast habitat. The East Bay Regional Park District has opened a long-awaited 5,500-square-foot visitor center with space for public exhibits and labs for students and others to do environmental research. A group from Independence High School in Brentwood recently got a tour of the center, the grounds and even a kayak tour of the shoreline.
